Who operates Syntalume

Syntalume is a DBA of Mbanwi Ventures LLC. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@syntalume.dev. Do not include payment-card details or license keys in support requests.

Editor data stays local

Syntalume does not upload your source code, filenames, workspace paths, repository names, Git branch names, environment labels, editor settings or diagnostics for licensing. Theme, icon, tuning, profile and environment-awareness processing happens locally. There is no product analytics SDK, advertising tracker or automatic crash reporter.

License requests

When you activate a Polar license, the editor sends its license key, Syntalume’s Polar organization identifier and a randomly generated installation label to api.polar.sh. Validation and deactivation also use the provider-issued activation identifier. Polar receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. While a paid license is stored, the editor periodically validates it in the background. After successful validation, the editor stores a bounded grant for up to 72 hours of access during temporary verification failures, never beyond the known license expiry. Confirmed revocation clears that grant; an unverified key cannot create it.

Local license storage

The editor stores the license key and activation record in VS Code SecretStorage or the JetBrains password store. Protection depends on the editor, operating system and selected password-store backend. A local trial record and secure-store backup retain the start time, expiry and last observed time. Secret storage also retains the earliest known notice timestamp so migration between connected hosts cannot restart the period. A cached paid grant retains the verified license and activation identity, verification time and expiry. Local locks and random activation-intent records coordinate windows and recover interrupted activation. Remote VS Code hosts use a random installation namespace for paid activations. Hosts connected to the same VS Code UI installation share the local trial period through editor secret storage, with the earliest known dates preserved during migration. Project contents are not included in these records.

Other local state

Syntalume retains feature preferences, profile choices, temporary preview recovery records, appearance selections replaced during license enforcement, and settings-ownership records for safe restoration and exact reset. Optional aggregate usage counters remain local. Edit Heatmap data stays in memory. Environment Guard inspects local context and stores bounded settings and short-lived snooze hashes. Reset commands restore owned settings where safe; they do not reset the subscription trial or cancel billing.

Checkout and account data

Polar hosts checkout, payment authentication, invoices, the customer portal, license benefits and activation management. Syntalume’s static website does not collect payment details, account login codes or license keys. We can access customer, order, subscription and license information needed to provide the product and support through Polar. Polar’s Privacy Policy describes its processing. Financial records may need to be retained for legal and accounting obligations.

This website and external links

Fonts and product images are hosted with the site. There is no analytics script. Appearance preferences are stored in your browser, and documentation search uses the site’s index. Vercel receives your IP address and ordinary request details to host the site; see its Privacy Notice. Optional support, marketplace and other links open third-party services with their own privacy policies.

Retention and requests

Local records remain until removed through the editor or its storage controls. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or guarantee removal of every editor-managed record. Use the customer portal to manage activations and renewal, and contact support@syntalume.dev for access, correction or deletion requests. We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve requests and meet legal obligations; we do not sell personal information.
