One Syntalume subscription across VS Code, Open VSX-compatible editors, and JetBrains IDEs. New users receive a 30-day free trial. Existing users receive 30 days of notice in the updated app before a subscription is required.
Your 30 days begin in the editor, without entering payment details. Purchasing here starts a paid annual subscription immediately, renewing yearly until canceled; it does not start another free trial. Taxes are shown at checkout. An activation is an editor installation, so separate editors or remote hosts may need separate slots. Theme and Companion share one slot in the same JetBrains IDE. First purchases have a 30-day refund window; renewal refunds are reviewed individually. Recover your key or manage activations any time from your license portal.
QUESTIONS
Choose the themes, icons and optional tools you want. The first in-editor notice starts your 30 days; closing it does not end that period. Temporary verification failures preserve previously verified paid access for up to 72 hours, bounded by the known license expiry. If grace ends while verification is unavailable, interactive and background features pause but the selected appearance is retained. Confirmed expiration or revocation can replace selected Syntalume appearance with editor defaults. Replaced selections are retained for safe restoration when access returns; later manual choices are preserved. Your source files are not changed.
Paid licenses require activation and periodic online checks with Polar. Your key and activation identifiers are sent for verification; source files and project details are not. The free period is checked locally. No product analytics are included. See our privacy information.
The color themes, file icons, and product icons remain declarative. A small runtime activates lazily after startup, and release gates enforce bundle, feature-startup and memory ceilings. The trial notice does not block editor startup.
Yes. The same extension identity is public on Open VSX, and the standalone Syntalume Theme is public and approved on JetBrains Marketplace. The Theme includes licensing and works without Companion; optional Companion adds interactive controls and shares the same activation. Browser-only hosts such as vscode.dev/github.dev are outside this paid release.
You receive 30 full days from the first presentation of the transition notice in the updated editor. Old beta trial timestamps do not shorten that period. Afterward, activate an annual subscription to continue using licensed features. Installation never authorizes a charge.
